A message from Jenson’s mum: Dear SoSuperAwesome, Jenson would like to say a huge thank you to your followers that have already donated, it shows how kind hearted people are and is truly humbling. If there’s anyone else out there that would like to donate any amount, no matter how small, that would be incredible! Every penny helps us get closer to our goal of achieving a more normal life for Jenson. Thank you to SoSuperAwesome and your amazing followers, you really are making a difference! And Jenson:Dear Tumblrs if you can you spare £2, £3.. (or $2, €3, ¥元₪₩฿ whichever!) for your good deed today, please help Jenson!
The following is a message I received from my sister-in-law this morning:
Jenson, the son of one of my school friends, is just a few days younger than [my daughter] Rosie. He has cerebal palsy, the kind which affects one side of his body. His family needs to raise a whopping £55,000 to take him to America for surgery that is not available in the UK. This surgery (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) would remove all the spasticity in Jensons right leg and enable him to walk without having to wear leg splints, have botox injections or endure intensive physiotherapy for the rest of his life.
His family has so far raised £25,000 but with a deadline of March (he has a surgery date of March 28th) they need more, and they need it soon.
This is a cause close to my heart - Jenson is the same age as Rosie, almost to the day. He has also just started school but doesn’t enjoy it the way Rosie does because his condition means he is different from the other children and cannot join in with them. If it was Rosie, I would move heaven and earth to get her that surgery, which is exactly what Katie is doing. She is putting every ounce of energy she has into raising funds for the surgery.
If this will be your good deed for the day you can sponsor my sister-in-law’s efforts to raise money or go straight to the Jenson’s Journey fundraising page.
Thanks for taking the time to read! :)
